Notice to all YKASL Memebers - Published on May 14th, 2012

Hello League Members,

Welcome to the upcoming 2012 outdoor season, thank you to all of the team captains and representatives who attended the meeting tonight. Below are a few points all Members should be aware of for the upcoming season:

  1. Anyone looking for a team to play on should contact Ms. Adrienne Fillatre, as she will be the League Director assisting individuals with finding a team to play on for the summer. So Captains please let Adrienne know if you’re in need of players – she can be contacted through the website.
  2. There will be a Rules Clinic on Sunday May 27th from 4-5pm. At least two reps from each team must attend to ensure we’re all familiar with the rules and so teams aren’t penalized $50 from their Performance Bond.
  3. Team fees are $1500 and are due by midnight on May 31st. We realize teams are sometimes waiting on sponsors but no exceptions will be made so please ensure players pay up ahead of time so the fees can be paid on time and no times are removed from the schedule.
  4. Regular season play will commence on Monday June 4th .
  5. The transfer deadline for the outdoor season will be June 18th, which means with the exception of new players to the League, no players can switch rosters.
  6. The Competitive Division will be OPEN and the Recreational Division will implement that no team may play with more than 6 players of one gender.
  7. Please ensure your team as 3 players designated as Captains on the roster to ensure timely communication from the League and Captains please endeavour to clean up your rosters for the upcoming season as players CANNOT PLAY unless they appear on the game-sheet. We encourage all Captains to bring rosters to games in case there is a discrepancy as the referees game-sheet will be taken to be official unless a more recent version is provided.
  8. The League is considering hiring an individual to a) line the fields weekly and b) manage the online schedule via the League’s website. Anyone interested should in either position should send an email outlining their communications to the Executive via the website. Anticipated start date is the week of May 28th.

Drop-In Resumes - Published on May 7th, 2012

Hello YKASL-ers,

Drop-in will continue on Thursday nights for the month of May (May 10, 17, 24, 31) from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Field House.

Drop-in rates are $8/session - unless you paid for the entire season back in October. We only have the field for 1 hour (there are groups on before and after us), so please show up before 8pm in order to pay and get your pinney.

Thanks, Krista & Ryan

Members,

Please join our Facebook group page called "Supporters for a Regulation Size Artificial Grass Field in Yellowknife."

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_155794921132385

We strongly implore every soccer player, parent, coach, referee, volunteer, and all user groups who could benefit from an artificial grass field to join this group so we can make the dream of having a regulation size, artificial grass field a reality.

Our goal is to get as many supporters as possible for the Facebook group. We need people power, please get your friends to join! If anyone would like to be an Admin for the group, contact Christian Bertelsen via facebook.

"If you build it, they will come!"
